He signed

I have been following Connan O'Brien ever since his resigning to a 17 year career with NBC. A surprise to all O'brien decided to sign a five year contract with TBS.

Starting in November O'Brien will air Monday through Thursday at 11 p.m.

This change will bump current talk show host George Lopez and his show "Lopez tonight" to midnight. Lopez actually called and help persuade O'Brien to come onboard with TBS, Lopez said O'brien will be a great "lead into" the "Lopez Tonight" show.

He's a terrorist

Cokie Roberts called Glenn Beck a terrorist. While Roberts was writing a column about Beck she mentioned "he's worse than a clown, and more like a terrorist," Roberts wrote.

She also writes that Beck is a traitor to American values, and she focuses on Beck "corrupting the essence of democracy."

Sometimes I'm forced to watch Glenn Beck daily. My boss at work is a fan of some sort, and he watches the show religiously.

I find Beck ranting about crap he thinks matters, but all he does is yell about this or that subject, with his blackboard full of crap that doesn't make sense, most of the time.

I mean even Glenn Beck fans are shocked to see other hardcore Beck watchers. The other day while I was a work a gentalman came in with his wife and was shocked to see the Glenn Beck show on the television. He even asked if it was a mistake, than becoming sucked into the show, his wife simply says, "Sorry, he's just surprised he thought he was the only one who watched the Glenn Beck show." While saying this her face turns sour as if she hates the sound of Beck's voice as much as I do.

How Rude!

Obama accuses Bret Baier of interrupting him during an interview.

Baier a Fox News reporter was doing an interview on Obama about the health care reform. Obama and Baier were caught going at it during the actual interview.

I didn't get to watch it but I did read the dialog to the interview and it is actually kind of interesting to see that they way that the interview went. You could see how the injunctions by Baier could have been annoying to Obama as he was trying to go on about the interview about health care reform.

During the interview Obama even tells Baier that he is interrupting and needs to let Obama finish his answer to Baier's question so he could be clear to what he is trying to say.

In the end Baier does apologize to Obama for all the interruptions during the interview but he said he just wanted to "get the most for our buck."

Making their comeback

Just last week I posted about Hulu.com discontinuing the availability of both “The Daily Show” and “The Colbert Report”.

I just ran across an article talking about the possibility of both shows coming back to Hulu.com. The CEO of Viacom would consider having the shows back on Hulu.com if they made a change the business model of the site.

What exactly that means I don’t know, the article itself didn’t give much details about it.

The best thing I would think for Hulu.com to do is to do it. “The Daily Show” and “The Colbert Report” are the top rated shows on Hulu.com so I wouldn’t be a bad idea for them to bring both shows back to the website.

Hulu says goodbye to...

Hulu will no longer offer full episodes of both The Daily Show and Colbert Report. Though Viacom's (the owners of Comedy Central) run with Hulu has been great success for both shows their agreement term has ended.

Both shows are usually rated highly on the most watched on the Hulu website. Viacom did mention that they do hope to work with Hulu again in the future.

Hulu might be saying goodbye to both shows, but full episodes will still be offered on Comedy Central's website.

Little Genius who?

Six days before the premiere of the Fox show “Our Little Genius” the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) stopped it from airing.

The FCC received a letter December 22, 2009 from a family whose child was to appear in the show. The letter included comments saying that the child received answers by a program’s production staff member.

Four days before the child was to go on for taping, the parents, child and staff member had a review of topics that could be potentially asked. During this review the letter stated that the staff member had given the child answers to at least four questions the child either did not know or was not sure about.

The child’s appearance on the show was canceled because his or her parents asked questions about some of the planned questions.

This show is under investigation because of section 508 of the Communications Act of 1934. This section “makes it illegal for anyone to give, with the intent to deceive the viewing or listening public, assistance that will affect the outcome.”

It honestly makes me loss hope for these contestant game shows. It is hard to believe that nothing now-a-days is rigged for a specific person to win or gain a leg up on someone else. What happened to honest winning fun? Now it is all about ratings and publicity.

Mistaken Identity

Who thought that the American-Canadian actor Michael J. Fox was also a well known marathon hero!!!

During a taping of the Today Show, the anchor lady mistaken the identity of the Canadian marathon runner Terry Fox with the known actor Michael J. Fox.

Terry Fox is known for raising millions of dollars for cancer research. He is also deceased and even had a prosthetic leg.

Unfortunately during the video taping they don't show if the anchor lady even corrected herself after making the shocking mistake.

I always thought news anchors and reports knew a little something about what they were about to report on, before actually reporting on it. I wonder if she didn't do her homework learning the facts, or just got a little nerves and forgot. And why didn't anyone correct her is what I want to know. Come on people!!!

Animal Cruelty protects abuse against all animals.

Who would have thought that even the rat is protected from animal abuse. British broadcaster for the show "I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here" got convicted for animal cruelty.

Australia's charges against two reality show contestants came after they killed and ate a rat. Though it was not the eating of the rat that caused a law suit. It was the rat's painfully long scream before dying that raised the animal cruelty flag. The 90 seconds it took for the rat to die was to long.

If the two contestants are convicted they can face up to three years in prison.

I honestly can't believe that. Domesticated animals I could understand, but it is just a rat. A nasty, dirty rat that these people are being convicted and sentenced for. I guess if it is animal cruelty that just what it is, no matter what type of animal it may be. The law doesn't discriminate against any animal.

Super Bowl commercials making controversy!

Last week it was Tim Tebow's commercial on abortion set to air during the Super Bowl. This week the controversy is the rejection of a Gay Dating site called ManCrunch's commercial to air.

Though the Super Bowl sold out of all their alloted commercial slots this is not the reason for the rejection.

CBS simply stated, "After reviewing the ad - which is entirely commercial in nature - our Standards and Practices department decided not to accept this particular spot. As always, we are open to working with the client on alternative submissions."

After this rejection ManCrunch spokesperson Elissa Buchter, said that CBS was discriminating against the gay dating commercial.

The money is not the problem Buchter goes on to say, if it was a commercial with a man and woman kissing they would have allowed it.

You can view the commercial through the first link above. When I saw the commercial I did not really see anything wrong with the it. It was actually quite comical, like it was suppose to be a joke. You really don't see the advertisement of the dating site for that long.

This is possibly why they rejected it, not because it is a gay dating site, but because it lacks a serious effort.

The news article also stated that this commercial could have been put together just to be rejected, for the publicity it would bring forth.

Whose with Coco?

Heard from everywhere the support for Conan O'Brien, by his devoted fans is a mere phase "I'm with Coco."

O'Brien's last appearance on the "Tonight Show" had a big hit on the Nielsen ratings. ABC's "Nightline" was the closest competitor with a 2.8 rating. Followed by CBS' "Late Show with David Letterman" at 2.5, and ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" having the lowest rating at 1.3. The "Tonight Show" might have said farewell to O'Brien, but beat out his three competitor shows with a 7.0 rating.

With O'Brien free from his NBC contract there is one network in particular looking to scoop him up. As early this week, O'Brien and Fox could start talking about a contract.

The article quoted an informant saying "If Fox wants to be in late night, now's the time." O'Brien being contract free could give Fox that chance.

Kevin Reilly, Fox's entertainment president said last week, "he's one of the few guys on the planet who has demonstrated he can do one of these shows every night."

NBC, ABC, and CBS all have morning and late night shows that bring in revenue. Now that Fox has been rated the number one network, they are looking to join the ranks, in having their own late night show.

All previous attempts made by Fox for a late night show has fallen short. Their attempt with Joan Rivers in 1986 lasted less than a year. Then their attempt with "The Chevy Chase Show" aired only four weeks and was canceled in 1993.

I think now would be the prefect time for Fox to compete in a late show. They are currently ranked the number one network on television. With the fan base that Conan has this could possibly be the chance Fox has been waiting for. If this becomes a set deal Conan could possibly be the first to last longer than a year in Fox's late show.

Are you with Coco?

Lou Dobbs: television or politics

My favorite source for news The Huffington Post has become my number one outlet for news resources. Though not your traditional media I enjoy the composite site, that includes original articles from major new sources i.e New York Post.

Each article summed up, even including links to other interestingly similar articles, some investigations and reports of their own, but still including a link to its original comrade.

When browsing I found an interesting piece on the former CNN anchorman Lou Dobbs. Links to both The Huffington Post and New York Post are provided.

Late last year Lou Dobbs quit his position as CNN anchorman because of disagreements between him and his boss about comments Dobbs has made about certain topics . His forced retirement, made his optimistic trade from television to politics.

Dobbs hoped to become a political icon, either in a New Jersey Senate seat or maybe even a run at the White house in the 2012 election. His hopes for running for office was cut short when realizing his campaign for the November Senate seat would have to take flight this month if he was seriously thinking about the Senate position.

Despite his political ambitions Dobbs is looking to return to television. Dobbs seemed to be interested in working at Fox, commenting he would "certainly" consider a job there if offered.

I personally think that Dobbs would be best having his own show on the Fox News Channel, his comments that he made while anchoring for the supposed to be non-biased CNN would defiantly be more fitting and expected on the Fox News Channel. Even though Fox News Channel claims they are non- biased, they do have a lot more talk about particular issues like the Glenn Beck show who is known for his provocative views.
